Privacy
This page explains what Riverskies Development Limited collects through this website, and what happens to it.
What's collected
The contact and booking forms (including the waitlist) collect the name, email address and message or task details you submit. The booking and waitlist forms also ask for your phone number (so I can call you for the booked call) and your company. They're stored in the site's database and emailed to barnabas@riverskies.com. The host also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses. If you email me directly instead, that email is kept under the same retention periods below.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets only two essential cookies, a session cookie and a security token, which keep the forms working and protect them against forgery. They aren't used for tracking. The session record on the server includes your IP address and browser details, and expires after 2 hours of inactivity.
For visit counts it uses Plausible. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and doesn't track you across sites. The page views it records can't identify you.
How it's used
- To reply to a contact form submission or booking request, including phoning you for a booked call.
- To keep a record of enquiries, so nothing gets lost.
- Never sold or used for marketing without your separate written consent. Shared only with the providers listed below.
The legal basis is legitimate interests: replying to someone who has contacted me. Nothing is decided by automated means.
Who else handles it
- Laravel Cloud hosts the site and its database.
- Resend delivers the notification emails.
- Laravel Nightwatch records errors, so I can fix them. A record can include your IP address and, if an error happens while you're submitting a form, the details you entered.
- Plausible counts visits, anonymously.
They process data only on my instructions. Laravel Cloud and Nightwatch run in EU regions, and Plausible hosts its data in the EU. Laravel is a US company, though, so its staff may access that data from the US. Resend is a US company and processes data in the US. Laravel and Resend are both certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and Resend's agreement also includes the UK Addendum to the standard contractual clauses.
How long it's kept
Enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted two years after the last contact. If we work together, records are kept for six years after the work ends, for accounting and legal reasons. Deleted records may remain in the host's backups, in Resend's email logs and in Nightwatch's error records for up to 30 days before they expire.
